5AM faced a very tough team in the Ballers on Thursday evening at Highfield School.

5AM struggled to rack up the goals in the first quarter and it finished 7-3 to Ballers.

The second quarter was more competitive and back and forth and by the third 5AM were trailing 12-17.

Hats off to the Ballers in the fourth quarter, they pulled out all the stops to finish 27-19. Well done girls, a well-deserved win.

Player from 5AM went to the wonderful Suzanne Gallagher.

5AM vs Goaldiggers

5AM were back with a bang on a chilly Thursday night for the Fylde Netball League.

Our opposition were the Goaldiggers and the first quarter was fast paced and competitive finishing 7-4 to 5AM. 5AM extended the lead to 16-7 in the second quarter with some excellent passing down the wings into the shooters. Goaldiggers were able to pull it back in the third and the score was 20-11. The match ended 32-15. Well done 5AM and what great sports the Goaldiggers were. Thank you ladies!

Congratulations to Player- Suzanne Gallagher. Well deserved as always.

5-AM vs Fusion – ROUND 2

5AM took on Fusion on Monday evening for the second time this season at Highfield Academy.

Much like the first meeting this match was a close game. The first quarter was neck and neck but 5AM managed to pull away in the second. Both shooters were on top form. Fusion came back in the third and forth quarter but 5AM managed to hang on for the win.

28 5AM- 21 Fusion.

Chance 2 Shine

5AM have had the privilege of taking part in the Blackpool Council work placement programme ‘Chance to Shine’. The programme is aimed at helping unemployed people back into work. 5AM were able to offer Chris Cheston a structured work placement to enable him to gather valuable new skills. Chris has worked as a member of the 5AM team over the past month and we have been pleased to offer Chris permanent employment.

Well done Chris, we are delighted to have you on board!

5AM V Jaguars

5AM took on the Jaguars on Monday evening at Highfield Academy. This was one of the closest matches to date. The first quarter finished 6-6 and the second 12-12. Both sides fought valiantly for each and every ball. The third saw the Jaguars inch ahead 15-17. With it all to play for 5AM put everything into the final quarter and pulled it back to a hard-fought draw 23-23.

Well done to Miss Rosie Devine for Player!

5AM V Taverners

5AM took on the Taverners Thursday evening at Blackpool College. It was an intensely competitive game with both sides showing great skill throughout. The first quarter went to the Taverners 9-11. The lead was extended in the second quarter to 15-20. 5AM regrouped in the third and brought the score back to 22-25 Taverners. It was all to play for in the final quarter. In a nail-biting finish the match ended 31-31. Well done 5AM- you kept your focus and what a finish!

Player for this week went to the one and only Suzanne Gallagher.

5-AM vs Ballers

5AM took on the Ballers at Highfield Academy on Monday night. What a match! With Ballers being tipped as the team to beat this season, 5AM made a confident start. The first quarter ended almost neck and neck with Ballers ahead by just one goal. The second quarter saw some fantastic shooting on both sides. It ended 18-12 to Ballers. It began to slip away in the third from 5AM with a score of 18-29 against them however they staged a heroic comeback in the fourth, level pegging for goals that quarter. Final score 38-29 Ballers.

This weeks player went to the wonderful Rosie Devine.

Well done 5AM, your fought to the very end!

5-AM vs Fusion

5AM’s first match in their new Monday night league was a resounding success! It was a high scoring game against tough opposition in Fusion. The first quarter went to 5AM, 11-6. It felt a lot tighter than the score shows. The play down either side of the court was fast paced and the shooting from both sides was sublime. Fusion pulled some goals back in the second quarter with the score at half time as 18-11 to 5AM. The third quarter saw 5AM begin to break away and by the final whistle the score was 36-24 to 5AM.

Well done to Paula Hardacre (5AM) and Gaby Han (Fusion) for players of the match.

Great game ladies, hopefully the first of many wins!
